An individual who has fully cultivated wisdom and is making wise decisions, which includes loving-kindness and elimination of anger/hatred/ill will, does not need protection. It is their own wisdom and wise decisions that protects them, because they are not making any unwise decisions, thus, no harm is coming to them.
